The E. Stanley Holland Charity
A small local charity that provides small grants to help residents of the parish when faced with hardship.
The Ann Heming Charity
Ann Hemings lived in Leominster over 200 years ago and left a trust in 1814 “to assist poor widows of Leominster”. The purpose has evolved over time and now the charity looks to assist anyone in need (male or female) giving modest grants for practical purposes. The trustees of this charity are from Leominster Priory and Leominster Town Council working together. Applications are welcome from residents in the Leominster Deanery Area (Leominster town, Dilwyn, Orleton, Brimfield, Eyton, Eye, Yarpole, Croft, Luston, Ivington, Monkland, Stoke Prior, Kimbolton, Hamnish, Hatfield, Ford, Hope-under-Dinmore, Pudleston, Bockleton, Middleton-on-the-Hill, Leysters, Humber and Docklow).
The assistance from both charities is to give modest grants for practical purposes, for example recent help has been to provide floor coverings for a homeless person provided with their first accommodation, repair a cooker, provide children’s winter coats and contribute to utility bills when someone is unable to work after an operation.
To apply for one of the small grants, please contact Julie Debbage, Town Clerk, Leominster Town Council, 11 Corn Square, Leominster. HR6 8YP. 01568 611734 or email townclerk@leominstertowncouncil.gov.uk
